We're a small, friendly bed & breakfast in southern Vermont. This year was meant to be a celebratory year. We were headed into our 5th Spring when the COVID 19 virus hit. We closed in March, and we've been hunkered down since then trying to figure out how and when we can open our doors again.
We only have two guestrooms, a big reason so many people come to stay with us, and the shared bath worked, as people were willing to share. The pandemic has changed that for the foreseeable future. Maybe forever, and a second bathroom is now an absolute necessity for us to reopen. We've explored every option we can find to raise the funds for this project. Due to the rules about how the monies awarded are to be used, most are, while helpful for paying the bills, not the answer. And we can't currently get a conventional loan because we've lost the income The One Cat normally provides.
We would love to use this down time, before the winter closes in, to turn a small box room into a lovely bathroom exclusively for guests in the New England Room. We've done all the estimates, had the fire marshall in to okay the space, and all we need to go ahead is the money to buy the items needed and to pay the local folks we'll hire to do the installation.
We cannot possibly tell you how much it would mean for us to have the help we need to do this, and we will reward every person who donates with a gift and a 'forever discount' for stays. (We'll be putting more information about that on our website soon.) www.theonecatvermont.com
