My nephew Bob McHugh needs our help and I am praying that all of you who know him and our family will help us to help him. First send prayer as Bob is in desperate need of a liver transplant and second, financial help, please donate as much as you can.
Bob hasn't been able to work since 2015 since then medical bills have been piling up, especially now since he's been hospitalized several times over the last few weeks. More care is needed to help him and his wife Lisa get through all that is going on right now.
Bob was first diagnosed with Hemachromatosis back in 2012...A blood disorder caused by a gene inherited by both parents. Since then, he has had to undergo monthly blood drains to remove the iron build up in the blood caused by the hemachromatosis. This was done in hopes to stop the various liver disorders that hemachromatosis causes, well, it didn't work and the end result has been cirrhosis. You might have heard that a liver can regenerate, yes, that's true, but not in Bob's case, not when the entire liver has been destroyed.
Bob, or Bobby as I call him, has been on a steady downhill spiral for quite sometime. Painful edema due to decreased liver function has caused numerous bouts with cellulitis & kidney failure. All of the meds he must take cause naseau, stomach ailments and heart ailments. Bob's also had to undergo weekly paracentesis to drain fluid buildup in the abdomen cavity caused by the cirrhosis. It's an extremely painful process. This vicious cycle is now causing hepatic encephalopathy requiring increase in hospitalizations.
Amazingly, throughout all of this Bobby has remained incredibly positive, (I always said he should have been a stand up comic) he has a great attitude, wit and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need and he has. I look up to him for his courage, sense of humor and grace he has continuously displayed. Let’s shown him we care!
