Stand by Tina

Five years ago our sister Kathleen (Tina Trohoske) Oshlick began experiencing severe,  constant headaches.  After many doctor and specialist visits it was determined they were caused by benign nerve sheath tumors near her brain stem.  Surgery was too risky,  so  Tina began a regimen of chemotherapy pills.  This treatment was successful in preventing growth,  but not the size of the tumors.   The doctors told her that she would need to continue the chemo pills to prevent further growth.  Tina was on this treatment for 5 years.  Tina is a stay at home mom who cares for her autistic son Kyle.  Tinas activities have been restricted,  but she has been able to get by with help from her husband Bob, their other son Jason,  and family.  In October 2017 Tina found an unusual lump on her rib.  It was determined to be be stage 3 bone cancer,  with other tumors located throughout her body.  This cancer was a much greater threat and she was shifted to traditional chemotherapy.   At the conclusion of two rounds of chemotherapy the cancer was not responding.   It was then suggested  that Tina begin an experimental Immunotherapy treatment along with the chemo.  Unfortunately this treatment plan is not covered by insurance,  and is  all out of pocket.   Tina showed some encouraging signs with the first round,  and has now started on a second round of treatment.  We are raising funds to help her with her continued treatment and needs.  Tina has at least 7 more treatments scheduled, with the possibility of more. All monies raised will go directly to Tina and Bob to fund her current and future treatments that are in excess of $600 each.   Please keep Tina,  Bob,  Jason and Kyle in your thoughts and prayers.
