Hi everyone. I'd like to say thank you for stopping by and reading my story. Good thoughts and prayers are needed and appreciated in this time of need for me and my family.
I have been recently diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Up until now I have been receiving care at The Mitchell Cancer Institute in Mobile, Al which is close to where I live. But unfortunately, due to the advanced stage and complexity of my case, I have been referred to The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida six hours away. This is where there are highly specialized doctors who can hopefully perform the surgery that I desperately need. I have a tumor in my sacrum, another on the right side of my lower spine and several cervical lymph nodes that need to be removed. All of these locations run high complication probabilities and even risk of paralysis. This will be followed up with treatment. That is why I am reaching out for donations to help get me there.
Any donations will be allocated first to the trip or possible multiple trips to The Mayo Clinic. Housing, travel and food costs are not covered by our insurance. Any remainder will go to treatment costs afterwards. We have all ready acquired a stack of medical bills that seem to reach the ceiling. I am in for a long fight and I am ready to make this journey. But unfortunately, with only one income in our family, we cannot afford this on our own. I have been overwhelmed by the amount of love and prayers that have been sent our way and ask that those things continue. I hope that you can find it in your hearts to help us out financially with your donations.
I will be taking my first trip to Mayo Clinic on November 17, but will require support for awhile after that being we don't know how long this journey will last. Thank you in advance for your generosity and God bless each and every one of you. Please keep us in your prayers!
