Glory's Tubal Ligation

Howdy,

Welcome to my fundraiser for my tubal ligation.

What will the fundraiser cover?

☆The medical bills for the tubal itself, which costs 2549+ (2549 is the low estimate and does not include hospital fees etc).

☆Bills during my short term disability leave while recovering.

What is a tubal ligation?

Removal of the fallopian tubes. The procedure will be laparoscopic and they will also be looking for endometriosis. This is a permanent method of birth control (and investigation into awful pain and other symptoms) that I have been seeking for 4+ years.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, this cost includes what my insurance covers. It is what I will actually pay (low balled).

What if there is money left over?

It will be donated to another person in need, paid directly forward. However, there is an extremely low chance any money will be left over, especially since we are already looking for complications such as endometriosis that would increase the bill.

Who are you?

☆I'm a 30 yr old queer artist and nerd just trying to make it out here. Aren't we all?

☆My current art project is a series of portraits and accompaniments showcasing queer joy.

☆I also dabble in crafting tiny planters and other cute miscellaneous objects.

I try my best to be kind and build community where I can.

Why do you need help? What have you done to mitigate the cost ahead of time? Are you being responsible?

☆My finances during covid took a pretty big hit. I am recovering and trying to save for a house to minimize my cost of living over time. But medical procedures are tough for everyone to pay for- it's the nature of our failing healthcare system.

☆I have applied for financial assistance and the wisconsin well women's health program to see if either will help cover the costs. Applications are still pending and the procedure is less than a month away.
