Mia's Up with People Fund!
Hello Everyone,
I was just recently selected by Up with People (a global education and arts program) to embark upon an amazing journey. It is a non-profit organization that provides an opportunity to Travel with a purpose, Perform for thousands and Impact communities through volunteerism and cultural exchange. Up with People is committed to empowering young people to find their voice to make a positive change in the world, and developing a culture of global citizens who aspire to create a more hopeful, trusting, and peaceful world.
This opportunity will allow me to travel with 100 students to nearly 20 communities on at least two different continents for six months. Throughout the tour I will be completing approximately 200 hours of volunteer service with 30+ organizations around the world as well as participate in educational workshops. These experiences cultivate immersion with different cultures and will be demonstrated in a two-hour professional stage show for the members of each community. I will be touring with the January 2018 cast. I am extremely excited about the opportunity to travel the world to impact change while using my passion of singing. This tour will allow me to better understand important global issues while learning new leadership and performance skills. What a privilege to be able to experience a life-changing journey such as this one!
I could really use your support to help me reach my immediate goal of $7,500 by the end of November for the required payment installment. All money raised will be used for travel back home after the end of the tour, passport/visa expenses, housing, transportation, international medical and other personal expenses that will occur while on tour. Since this is a short period of time, any donation that you can give as soon as possible will be greatly appreciated. However, if it possible for any of you, please consider sponsoring ONE DAY of my tour. On the day of your choice, I will send you a postcard from wherever I am in the world and share with you my experiences of that day, and how you helped make it possible!
