Glassworks Studio

#SmallBusinessReliefIntiative  You, me and Go Fund Me working together to keep businesses afloat until people can safely gather in crowds again.

Glassworks Studio is celebrating 18 years of bringing creativity and family engagement to the Morristown area.  The first ever, walk in public glass fusing studio was the brain child of Stacey Schlosser, after visiting the Corning Museum of Glass in the summer of 2001.  With a philosophy of open ended exploration and learning a new medium, Stacey opened Glassworks Studio in Morristown in December 2002. https://www.umakeglass.com

The studio offers group events from Birthday Parties to Corporate events and all gatherings in between.  While also offering Open Studio time to novice and artist alike.

Glassworks Studio has entertained, enriched and educated tens of thousands of children, scouts and adults through a myriad number of in house and off premise events.
Unfortunately, the very existence of Glassworks Studio is threatened by the pandemic, just like thousands of other businesses.  What once made Glassworks so special creates huge obstacles to success during the pandemic.

1. Our basement location is bright and beautiful,  traffic free and an escape from everything happening above ground. Now that works to our disadvantage because many people do not feel safe in an indoor basement space.  ( We have invested in excellent air purifiers and we have been Open since July 1st with no known repercussions.)

2.  We are a glass fusing studio where we fire the finished work in a kiln.  This poses a challenge for those who would like to purchase our Glass To Go Kits because they have to pick up the raw material, drop off the finished artwork and come yet again to pick up the fired and formed glass art.  We have offered delivery and shipping options but it becomes very expensive, on both sides of the equation.

3.  What truly has always made Glassworks so special is the excellent customer service as the staff engages with the visitor and guides them through the glass making experience.  Although we send instructions, have posted videos and offer Zoom classes nothing can replace the dialogue and support of an in studio visit.

4. Lastly, the vast array of materials and tools in the studio cannot be replicated at home.  We can send specific materials but not the full  range of what we offer.

And of course by state mandate occupancy is limited.

These are the major reasons why Glassworks needs to reach out to you to help support us through this pandemic challenge.  Of course we prefer for you to visit or host an off site event but at this stage we are willing to accept your financial support so we can be here post pandemic to continue to provide a meaningful, educational and creative experience to all, from 3-103!

Thank you in advance for your contribution.  Your support will keep our doors open and allow Glassworks to remain in Morristown bringing joy and creativity to all who enter. This means the world to us!
