Mi hermana Sorymar acaba de ser diagnosticada con Leucemia mieloide aguda. Esto ha sido un impacto muy fuerte en nuestra familia y no lo podíamos creer porque ella es un ser de luz, es una mujer que inspira paz, es mamá de 3 niños hermosos, una esposa amorosa y la mejor hermana, hija y amiga que podemos tener. Mi hermana es un regalo de la vida, es un ser de amor puro, con una mentalidad siempre positiva y hábitos sanos. Por eso, esto es solo una prueba que la vida nos esta poniendo y para salir de esto necesitamos de tu ayuda.
Sorymar vive en Barcelona, Venezuela y fue trasladada a nuestra tierra natal, Ciudad Bolivar. En Venezuela los tratamientos médicos están cada día mas escasos y por ende increíblemente mas costosos. Sory ha necesitado de transfusiones sanguíneas diarias, su hemoglobina al principio estaba en 4 g/dL y los doctores no se explican ni siquiera como caminaba. El diagnóstico es un tipo de leucemia poco común, afecta a un porcentaje muy pequeño de los adultos que padecen de esta enfermedad y se esparce de manera muy rápida ya que las células mieloides interfieren con la producción de glóbulos blancos, glóbulos rojos y plaquetas normales.
Por situaciones que vivimos hoy en día, en Venezuela la gasolina es extremadamente escasa así que los medios de transporte para recibir donantes de sangre esta comprometido, como también los costos clínicos son de $3,000 USD aproximados al día. Sory requiere estar hospitalizada por un promedio de 30 días, luego de esto necesita tratamientos de quimeoterapia y medicamentos. Es por eso que como familia unida estamos pidiendo lo que puedas donar para salvarle la vida a mi hermana.
Necesitamos donaciones urgentemente para así sacar a mi hermana adelante, que tenga una vida larga y sana, pueda ver a mis sobrinos crecer y nos siga acompañando a todos aquellos que tenemos la dicha y placer de conocerla. Ella hace de nuestras vidas una mejor solo con su presencia.

My sister Sorymar was just diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This has been a terribly shaking news for our family as we didn’t expect such a diagnosis for my sister. Sory is a lovely mother of 3 children, the best sister my mother could have given me, and unconditional wife to her husband who she met when she was only 7 years old, and the best friend anyone could ask for.
She has always been my inspiration in life, my hero, and has overcome so many personal obstacles that this is still again, a shock to our family. My sister is a gift and this is just a situation that we will overcome together! But we still need the resources to make this possible, and that is why we are asking for your help.
Sory lives in Barcelona, Venezuela with her children and husband. She was transferred to our hometown Ciudad Bolivar where our entire family can support each other better. In Venezuela these treatments are very scarce and the cost is very high. She has been needing blood donors transfusions daily and the hospital fees are incredibly high for a country like Venezuela where the minimum wage is $6.00 USD per month. The average hospital cost per day is $3,000 USD. When Sory was admitted to the hospital her hemoglobin levels were at 4% (anything below 12 is dangerous for anyone) and was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow with excess immature white blood cells, it progresses rapidly, with myeloid cells interfering with the production of normal white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. This is an uncommon type of cancer that affects a small size of the population that carries with this disease. She has also been diagnosed with pneumonia due to the leukemia complications.
She needs to be hospitalized for at least 30 days, after this, she will start her chemotherapy and other treatments in order to save her life. That is why we are requesting your donation in order to keep my sister alive, allowing her to watch her children grow and continue living a healthy life while we cherish her presence on this earth. My sister and my family will be forever grateful if you could help us in defeating this battle against cancer.
