Support for Ukrainian People

Donation protected
My sister and I are working together to provide support directly to those on the ground in Ukraine. We are asking for you to contribute funds so we can purchase and deliver medical, clothing, and food supplies to those in direct need of basic survival support. With your help we hope to expand the relief effort and benefit as many Ukrainians as possible, as they continue to live day to day under these war torn conditions.

My name is Kateryna Bakay, and I am originally from Kyiv, Ukraine. On February 22, 2022 President Putin has declared an official war on Ukraine. Many Ukrainians woke up at 5:00a.m. to the sound of bombs and artillery shootings. Russia is bombing not only military installations, but also residential homes, kindergartens, schools and hospitals in all major cities and small villages. At the same time, Ukrainian citizens have been proudly defending their homes, sacrificing their lives for freedom. While children are being born down in subway stations, orphanages and ambulances are being bombed, innocent civilians are being killed, our brave soldiers are sacrificing their lives on the battlefield protecting their families and their country. As the war continues, people are running out of food and medicine supplies. The longer the fight continues, the more support and help are needed from international community.

My sister, Daria Bakai, lived and worked in Kyiv. She is one of the fortunate ones who was able to escape from Kyiv at night under military assault. Finally, after 6 days of traveling, she made it to Seattle to stay with me. However, all of her friends and colleagues are still in Kyiv. As a result, we receive direct information from them, and not just from the news. Daria has contacts with most of the volunteering organizations in Kyiv. She is trying to help people from here as much as she can, coordinating and organizing supply delivery.

Ukraine is as big as Texas and has almost twice as many people. There are 43 million people that need our help. If you were starting your 7th day living in a bomb shelter with other families, pets, neighbors with bombs exploding overhead with failing electricity, lack of water and food - what kind of support would you hope would arrive?

WE are trying to keep HOPE alive. Thank you for your support.
