Jeff (Dudie) Balke Memorial Fund
Don protégé
As many of you are aware our Dad/Dude (Jeff Balke) passed away surrounded by family on December 12th, 2015 following a year and a half long battle with colon cancer.
We have opened this account to help Lynn (Lynnie, Mom) pay for the pile of outstanding medical and hospice bills accruded throughout his fight.
For those of you who knew/know Jeff and Lynn, have likely been witness to their love and unending generosity. Nothing drives this point home more than an envelope I noticed on their kitchen counter the day before Thanksgiving.
Just one day earlier we met with Dad's oncologist who told us that his cancer was indeed taking over and that little options were left as far as treatment. To describe that day and week as devastating does not even begin to do justice to the emotions we were all experiencing.
Yet that next day as I took a closer look at that envelope, I noticed that it was a donation to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. Even in the midst of news that her husband only had a few weeks left live coupled with mounting financial burdens, she found the generosity in her heart to help someone else during arguably the most difficult time of her life. And the thing is, it was not at all suprising! It is exactly what they have always done.
We are asking that you find a little bit of that generosity in your heart to help an amazing woman and family in need.
With love and gratitude,
Kyle, Shannon, Cassidy, and Brwynn
