Pancreatic Cancer Awareness

Donation protected

I have a huge goal to accomplish huh! That's a lot of money!  Well, this is just the beginning. As many of you know I lost my mother to Pancreatic Cancer. This is the fourth deadliest cancer, yet its at the bottom of the list for research and funding.

It's actually the LEAST funded of ALL cancers. Pancreatic Cancer is also rising to the second deadliest form of cancer-very quickly.

I have finally decided what my calling in life is. I'm taking a huge risk. I say, bring it on! If this is becoming the second deadliest form of cancer, why isn't there more press and awareness being made about it? There is a disconnect here, and I want to fix it! Pancreatic Cancer is called "The Silent Killer". Once you have been diagnosed the typical life span is four to six months (or less).

I was recently reading some articles on the percentage of the funds raised for charity organizations, and the percentage that actually goes "directly" to the cause. I was very disappointed-to say the least.

I'm going to start my own charity organization for Pancreatic Cancer. In honor of the best mother a girl could ever have. "The Charlotte O. Kelley foundation". I hope one day I can save a girl from loosing her mother to this deadly disease.

I'm on a mission to find health care researchers, and scientist that have a passion to find a cure, or at least early detection. I want to personally know where the funds are going, and that I am helping with the future of this disease for the better. I'm fascinated with the medical field and science, so this journey will be fun for me. I will be hands on.

I am participating in the Purple Stride event in Atlanta, GA on 11/15/14. That fundraising page will close after the event, but this one will stay open. THE ENTIRE MONTH OF NOVEMBER IS PANCREATIC CANCER AWARENESS MONTH! The color is purple.

I want to sponsor my own event next November 2016. This is just the beginning of what I want to do to honor my mother, and other's effected by this disease. Will you participate in a walk/run event for a great cause? Will you make a donation for a great cause?

I want to start out with a 5K event next year, and continue to grow the presence of this foundation. The ultimate goal is to become a huge charity foundation for Pancreatic Cancer, like the Susan G. Koman foundation for Breast Cancer. Yes, I dream big! I know this will take a few years and a lot of work, but I'm ready for the challenge.

I'm putting this up for now to see how much money I can raise in one year to sponsor an event to launch the "Charlotte O. Kelley" foundation next November during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month. This page is under personal for now. I will convert this page to an official Charity page, once I have done the proper protocols, and I have the Tax ID number for the foundation I am creating in the name of my beautiful mother.

Check back for exciting updates! And remember, no donation is ever to small! Every dollar helps.

I will be the happiest girl on earth if I can raise enough money to sponsor a 5K event for the foundation I am creating. I need your help in order to achieve this goal in one year.

Spread the word! Share this on your Facebook page. Look out Pancreatic Cancer, because I am on a mission! Donate today, and plan on coming to my event next November!
