cochlear implant aftermath

Life is changing, in most ways for the best. I'm exploding exponentially in college, I'm married and was blessed with a healthy son. Hearing a child's laughter is something I will soon have to look to memory for, I have lost all hearing with my right ear and my left ear is deteriorating rather quickly. Insurance will not cover one ear and waiting for the deafening sound of silence is rather demoralizing.

Deteriorating quickly was a gross understatement I suppose, the silence has moved in. Things are half and half, my doctors are sure the cochlear implant will happen now and the waiting game begins...
