Gizmo's Open Heart Surgery

My name is Gizmo. I am a 5 month old pomeranian puppy. My mommy's name is Gina, she is a pediatric nurse in Fort Myers, FL. On 11/27/17 I was diagnosed with a life threating heart condition called a Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). The ductus arteriosus is a large blood vessel in my heart. In my case, it did not close like it should have after I was born. Because I am so tiny, the surgeon needs to go in through my chest into my heart to close it. I have two months to grow a little more so that my surgery can be done safer. If my mommy cannot get me this surgery, the doctor says I will develop congestive heart failure, probably as soon as one to one and a half years, and go to heaven. She says I need this surgery to live to be a grown up doggy. My mommy is heart broken that I am in danger of dying as a baby. She made this page for me to try and raise some money to go toward the cost of my surgery expenses. She doesn't want to have to watch me die as a baby, or put me down! My mommy and my doggy sisters love me with their whole hearts and maybe with some of your help, I will live to be a grown up doggy.
