NY Marathon - 2nd Nov 2014
There are approximately 285 million blind and visually impaired people across the globe. As the foundation board chairman for the Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research, I am passionate about helping enhance the vision and quality of life for those who are blind and visually impaired. As I train for the big day, I am asking others to consider helping me give the gift of sight to four people.
Many cases of preventable blindness can be treated through a corneal transplant. I have a goal of raising $10,800 to provide four corneal transplants to patients who are otherwise unable to pay for their surgery. Each surgery costs approximately $2,700, and I would like to fund two in the U.S. and two in the U.K. through Moorfields Hospital in London or in Glasgow Royal Scotland.
Thank you in advance for your support. Only 26.2 miles to go!
Cheers,
Michael
