Carolina's Story
February 24, 2014, my 7-year old niece, Carolina, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
After a successful 11 hour surgery to remove the tumor, she underwent 30 rounds of proton radiation therapy and 7 rounds of chemotherapy.
Thankfully, today Carolina is in full remission and doing well.
Here's a picture of her celebrating her 10th birthday!
An Idea That Had Wings
In 2015 (a few days before Christmas), Carolina and her sister had an idea....
They wanted to compile their change and go buy presents for the other kids who had to spend Christmas in the hospital.
Spontaneously, other people got involved and our whole family was able to purchase many Christmas toys for the children in the hospital.
Here's a few pictures of what we were able to donate last year (thanks to kind folks like you)!

Above: Look at all the gift cards we were able to bless cancer families with last year! Thanks to the kind donations of people like you, families going through tough financial times were able to fill up their cars with gas, buy groceries, and enjoy some entertainment.
Above: Carolina, a cancer survivor, "giving back" to other kids who are spending Christmas in the hospital this year.

How You Can Help (And Learn Some Cool Stuff!)
This year, we are hosting the Second Annual "Give Back" Workshop.
All proceeds from this event will go to the Believe Foundation. Their immediate need is to provide Christmas gifts that would be delivered to Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children’s Specialty Care and the UF Proton Therapy Treatment Center, during the week of Christmas.
All you need to do to participate is make a $7 donation (or more), and you'll be able to help a good cause while also getting access to this exclusive online workshop!
The Vision of the Believe Foundation
Through this family's journey, they have seen the deep pain and needs that having a child with cancer brings on the entire family. Because of this, The Believe Foundation was started.
Their immediate need is to provide Christmas gifts that would be delivered to Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children’s Specialty Care and the UF Proton Therapy Treatment Center, during the week of Christmas.
An on-going goal that they have is to keep the “treasure chests” filled throughout the year for each of these locations. When a child goes in for treatment or to the clinic for a blood draw, they are able to choose a “treat” when they leave.
This is something that children look forward to. Sometimes it is the distraction that a child needs so their port can be easily accessed.
The Believe Foundation would also love to provide a “dream” for a child! The Parson Family was blessed with a Disney Cruise by a generous company that supports Dreams Come True, a local organization that provides dreams to children with life-threatening illnesses. Their desire is to partner with them to give a child their dream!
Lastly, Carolina has the desire to share her love of horses with other children. She has been horseback riding for the past 15 months. We have seen how this has helped her physically, to build her inner core muscle strength which has helped with balance issues that she has sustained from her diagnosis.
These are just a few ways the Believe Foundation feels that God wants to use them.
