Give Rocco His Vision

This is Rocco.  He is a Mini-Pin.   He was a rescue dog at 2 years of age.  His life before being adopted was not a good one.  But through the love of our family, first my son and his family, now Grandma & Grandpa taking care of him,  he flourished.  He has been a loving, loyal, sweet dog. 

 He is now 10 1/2 years old and was diagnosed with Diabetes about  5 months ago.  He has been a trooper.  It's not pleasant having to take shots twice daily.  When he was diagnosed, our vet recommended we use Ocu-Glo to help try and save his vision as the Diabetes was starting to give him cataracts.  He is on a prescription diet.  All in all, he is doing great and is pretty much back to normal - with the exception of his eyes.

It appears he has completely lost vision in one eye, and the other one is rapidly deteriorating.   There is a procedure that can restore his eye sight, but because he is diabetic, they have to do both eyes.  With the monthly cost to care for his diabetes, and my diagnosis of Lupus last year - money is tight and the affordability to have the surgery on his eyes is dismal at best.  :-(

Because we have always helped others on gofundme and through other causes, we are hoping that others who love their pets as much as we love Rocco might all chip in and help.  The money will be used to cover the surgical procedure, anesthesia, pet hospital, medicines, and follow up. 

Together, we could give Rocco the last years of his life being an active, healthy, happy dog - instead of slowly going into darkness and losing activity.  With my Lupus diagnosis, he has been the light of my life, and I am hoping all of you can help him see the light again.  The thought of him going blind and not being able to do anything about it, devestates us.   Thank you and God Bless you!
