Help Mom beat Cancer!

Everything was perfect and full of love....

This is our family, our names are Sebastian and Damien, and we are children of 11 and 14 years old.
My family was happy, full of love and joyful memories.
Our parents, our grandparents from Italy and our friends would make sure that we would be taken very well care of,and that we didn't miss anything. Vacations, Halloween, Birthday parties, Christmas, schools' celebrations was all that we had to be concerned for.

.....Then our peaceful and serene world came crushing on us!...MOM GOT CANCER!

On November of 2017, our family was shuttered down by a news that no child (or adult) should never hear: my mother had been diagnosticated with a very aggressive form of LIVER CANCER which, since it was caught very late, was already at stage 4 and metastatic spread in other organs (lungs), and bones (hips and spine).

Why her and not us?

Our Mommy has always been the pillar of our life, energetic, altruistic, hard working,energetic,loving, and full of life and wisdom. We could not phantom our life without her, her advises and guidance, together with her warmth and caring, never being too tired to cook delicious meals or too upset or overworked to listen to our endless complains or to check our homework.

No task has never been too much or too overwhelming for her.

The bad news started becoming too many and too unberable!

After the diagnosis the doctors prescribed a very aggressive Chemotherapy in order to try to save her life, even if they had little to no hope that she would last more than few months. The treatment reduced our Mom to a vegetative state, confined in a wheelchair after she got a stroke due to the aggressive Chemo and an infection given to her by the Port the doctors had to insert inside her in order to administrate the medicines.

Mommy is not her anymore. The energetic, caring and hardworking(not to mention a terrific cook) is gone, confined in a corner, reduced to a skeleton with no energy due to the fact that she cannot eat properly anymore due to her liver issues. The most loving being we ever met, who used to run her business and her family with the same passion and dedication, was taken from us by a monster that we don't understand (she never did drugs, smoke, eat unhealthy, and she was physically active).

Will there be light at the end of the tunnel?

The last blow that was dealt to Mom, was from her health insurance. They used to provide for her temporary services such as medicines, Chemo, home aid, and nurse. Now advised her that they stopped provided services to her because of her current citizen status. We tried to seek legal advise to resolve the serious issue, but unfortunately free legal aids don't put any effort in helping.

As a consequence our family got stuck with Thousands of $s of expenses for medical care, medicines, Chemo, legal fees and basic living expenses, such as food rent, utility bills etc., since my dad had practically to stop working since he is taking of Mom.

IF THE CURE IS NOT CONTINUE,  OUR MOM WILL DIE!

THE COST OF SURVIVING

The medical bills are over  $100K, the living expenses are @30K/40K, legal expenses $25K.

In order to keep Mom alive, we went trough all our savings, until they are now extinguished.We are now living off off our relatives aid and generosity, but they have their own families and expenses too! Dad takes on and off odd jobs to put food on the table, my brother and I take care of housekeeping,laundry, cooking and try to do our best to help Mommy. Our school took a drastic toll because of this situation, and I failed to pass the 9th grade because I was too busy helping Dad and my family to dedicate myself to school!
