Support the Little Warrior Ostap to Win in his Battle against Cancer

Please Support the small but purposeful Warrior Ostap Lozovskyi who is right now fighting and winning the battle against cancer to complete the treatment

This is a kind appeal to support the small (but hugely purposeful) warrior Ostap to struggle with the formation that was suddenly found in his head and that turned out to be a cancer tumour. The formation was extremely successfully removed and now Ostap is doing great job on his own remedy and needs a diligent therapy to make no chance for a cancer cells to appear again and ruin his childhood and growing up.

Here is the small but purposeful Warrior

Hello Dear Everybody, here is a kind request to support the young, 1,5 years old boy Ostap to win in the complicated race he is trapped in by an unpleasant tumour founding recent months.

Ostap is small guy who was growing up well and due, with no deviations, and who was gladdening his mom and dad each day by a diligent development and who is continuing to do so actually, these times, when he is rapidly recovering himself after an extremely complicated medicine and surgery treatment that he had to go through.

15th of March 2021 Ostap has passed first time in his life the MRI and it founded a huge size (4 cm - just compare it to the size of the small boy’s head!) formation in the back side of the head with the inner-scull liquid accumulation, the preliminary diagnosis of the Tumour with Hydrocephalus was done.

It came as a huge surprise for all the family, since there were completely no problems before and the boy grew up normally. The MRI was done only because couple of months before in Dec 2020 Ostap was regularly vomiting at breakfast and all investigations by gastroenterologists showed no deviations, so the doctors suggested the MRI.

Looking at the shocking results of MRI the doctors in Kyiv (where the family lives) defined the conditions with such a formation inside the head as «highly critical» and "threatening the life», stating that the normal and healthy behaviour of Ostap can turn critical any day. But for all that, doctors in Kyiv stated that they can, for sure, resect the formation but «you as parents shall be ready for the fact that by such a complicated invasion into the brain some life functions will be harmed or even breached completely». We, as parents, could not let the cheerful and playful guy to be the subject of such an obvious crippling/disabling. So we decided to find the alternatives.

At that time Ostap continues to play and investigate the world as usual, trying to follow his elder brother in all activities:

Thankfully the doctors in Germany, Spain and Austria, where we have appealed for consultations provided much more optimistic picture. So the decision was made immediately, and in the teeth of all current Quarantine obstacles we were lucky to get into the Austria. And we felt - Ostap fully supported such luck and we believed he finally got in where he would be helped.

Only Medical University of Vienna/General Hospital Vienna (AKH) by a lucky chance agreed to accommodate Ostap. At the second day after our arrival to Wien some strange symptoms came (which were never detected before). The Doctors from AKH Wien made a decision to hospitalize Ostap immediately and at the very next day he got two surgeries - to drainage the excess of inner-scull liquid and to resect that huge tumour out.

Thankfully the procedures passed extremely well and Ostap immediately started to recovery after the surgery. We, as well as the doctors were overjoyed to see him returning to normal actions, speaking and moving. And in a week he quickly started to remedy the walking/running skills, and is now heartily and quickly coming back to normal playing and cheerful attitude he always had. The doctors were very proud of the results and Ostap, in his turn, demonstrated each day very good progress in getting himself back to the normal life of a small and growing up kid.

Alas, a week after the histology has shown cancer-cells inside the formation that was rejected and such cells were found in the spinal liquid as well. The diagnosis was stated as Medulloblastoma. So the intense but accurate (since he is only 1,5 years old) chemo-therapy was destined immediately. Ostap accepted the therapy very well and is continuing to show a good progress in recovery in healing. The doctors in AKH formulated very clear target - "not only to kill the cancer cells, but to make all procedures due to avoid its appearance in the future to let the young guy have a unproblematic childhood and further grow to become a strong and smart Gentleman». We as parents only want to achieve the same.

Presently Ostap is staying at AKH. As of now he has already passed four cycles of chemo-therapy and has no plans to give up or to lose the track. He is taking all medicines with patience (and such an attitude is so surprising for a 1,5 years boy, I would say). Ostap is walking confidently towards his aim - to rid of the strange problem with cancer cells he has got.

All those procedures require full stay at the hospital, and the therapy is such a kind that requires continuity and non-interruption. The Family of Ostap has already paid all bills for the surgery, treatment and therapies and as of now and has already run out of all savings they had, but the further estimated amount of required treatment is still 250 000 EUR.

We are asking everyone who cares, to help Ostap not to lose the promising results he personally worked so hard on, and not to ruin such a great effort of AKH’s surgery he passed.

Let’s give a chance for a great and strong new Gentleman to grow up for a in our world!
