Give Mikala Her Life Back

Mikala is an amazing woman and a very dear friend. In 2012, Mikala Hateley was living a happy, normal working life, working & enjoying raising her 3 beautiful children, Lochie, Remi & Rylee. Rightbeside her was her partner of 12 months Jeremy & his wonderful children, Cooper, Georgie & Jed. They decided to buy a home together and formed a modern day Brady Bunch - life was perfect! For years Mikala was frequently unwell & required regular yearly surgeries. These surgeries never impacted her sense of humour, her happiness or her work life. In May 2014, aged only 35, she wasn't recovering from her yearly surgery. This year was about to turn her life upside down. Mikala suffered debilitating fatigue and severe pain throughout her body. The simplest daily tasks became impossible. 18 months passed seeing numerous doctors & specialists, who had no answers. This took a toll as people slowly removed themselves from her life. Except Jeremy. He never faulted. He stayed right beside her and took on all household tasks and running 6 kids around. Mikala was finally diagnosed with SLE or Lupus, as it's more commonly known. It is a chronic, sometimes invisible disease that attacks everything from skin rashes, internal organs, joints, including her spine, knees, hips & wrists. She has a few good days here and there but sadly, there are now more bad days than good ones.

Mikala is a mum who longs to be a normal wife, mother, who is free to laugh, play, have fun and build memories with both Jeremy and their combined 6 children.

There is treatment available but we need your help. It's not Government funded and won't be available forever. The successful treatment comes at a huge cost and if we can all help ease the financial issue, then Mikala has hope to hang on to. Let's make this happen! Mikala has an amazing outlook on life, a fantastic sense of humour but she's now at the stage of just running out of options and time. Please help Mikala get her life back.
