Help Get My Mobility Back

Donation protected
I post this myself, as I have no one else who will do it for me, please do not judge me for doing so. I am an Army Veteran who served 14years in the Armed Forces and have gone from serving my country and at the peak of physical fitness, to being;
·      2012 – Diagnosed with Degenerative Disease Disorder of the spine, resulting in seven prolapsed discs and managing chronic pain daily
·      2016 – Mental breakdown, attempted suicide & time in Rehab. Diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
·      2019 – Diagnosed with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Osteo-Arthritis in all three joints in both knees
·      2020 - Diagnosed with Fibroyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome This all results in my struggling with chronic levels of pain on a daily basis,struggle to sleep, to walk, to sit for too long, stand for too long and at times I cannot leave my bed.

Since having my medication mismanaged I am now addicted to prescribed Opiate and Morphine drugs and I lost the love of my life when my health and I became too much following my regression in September 2019 and was having Suicidal thoughts!

What Do I Need?
I desperately need to get out of my small 1 bed flat, to begin exercising again which will enable me to keep on top of my weight, it will also help me with my mental health, to reduce some of the pain I experience due to limited movement  and even allow me to socialise with others once more on an even level. The only way for me to achieve this realistically though, with my spine and chronic pain, is through cycling and to achieve this I require a special bike called a Recumbent which have prices starting from £1,500 BUT the one I require to best my support is £2,500!!

Is There Not Any Treatment Or Support I Can Access?
The short answer is "No"! Even prior to Covid19, all I was being informed is that I had to learn how to manage my pain and to live with Fibromyalgia and they would offer more medication should I require it, so the Opiate and Morphine addiction I am already managing due to being left on the medication for the past 8yrs would simply be fed!

How Much Of A Difference Would This Make?
It would seriously change my life, from having limited mobility, limited social life, struggling with pain, struggling with weight problems which in turn increase pain levels, struggling with Depression and Anxiety, to that of feeling free and alive once more. It isn't simply about me though, I also want to be able to raise money for the smaller support groups around the country who are helping people manage with the after effects of Covid19 and this will enable me to take part in cycling fund raisers around the country, which previously I would not have been able to do.

Through making a donation, I can increase your generosity by taking part in these fundraisers and through my repeating the 1000mile cycle ride I planned and took part in over 10 years ago

Who Is Nick Wilson?
A Veteran who served 14 years in the British Army, Nick has had a rich yet tumultuous life. In 2012, after leaving the Army, Nick started his own Executive Chauffeuring business. During that time, he battled with depression and was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  Nick’s chauffeur business became well known throughout Oxfordshire, becoming a £1/4M business within two years. He then suffered a mental breakdown, attempted suicide and spent 3weeks with Combat Stress, where Nick then made the life-changing decision to fight back.

Selling his chauffeuring business, Nick started again, determined to help others with mental health issues, so co-founded 360 Wellbeing a mental health consultancy, along with his personal and business partner. Unfortunately, Nick was forced to step down as Director in January 2020, on being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome, both triggered by Trauma.  He now spends his time as an Ambassador for Mens Mental Health, whilst running a local support group and developing a project which provides emotional and wellbeing support to our heroic KeyWorkers who have been impacted by Covid19.
