Give Farran-kyle the send off he deserves

Here we’ll tell the story of our Angel Farran-Kyle and the sheer and utter strength of something so small& yet so mighty!
During Jorden’s (Farran-Kyles amazingly brave mum) pregnancy; all seemed normal to begin with. During a routine scan, the sonographer noticed Jorden’s placenta was a little lighter than usual but explained it was nothing to worry about. At 12 weeks, during the optional yet routine blood test. Jorden’s baby tested high risk for Downs, Edwards and Patau Syndrome. This resulted in Jorden having an Amniocentesis Test to determine what syndrome her baby may possibly have. When the results came back, it was more than certain he had Edwards (Trisomy 18)- for those that don’t know, this is a tripling of the 18th Chromosome and it makes life expectancy extremely short in a neonatal case. Boys, generally do not live through pregnancy- and the higher rate of short survival after birth is statistically a majority in girls, not boys. They couldn’t be for certain how this would have effected his development in the womb until the detailed, 20 week scan. Before the 20 week scan was due, she had routine meets with consultants& specialists explaining what this condition was, the effects it would have and what it can cause. They gave her the option to either terminate, or continue the pregnancy with knowledge of the possibilities and the inevitable. Jorden returned home, information packs in hand and done her own research too. Repeatedly looking for the tiniest bit of hope that there may be a possibility of a miracle. As a mother already, being unable to willingly part with this life developing inside of her. Feeling him move, kick and grow. It took her less than 24 hours to make that decision and the next day the call was made and she notified them she wouldn’t give up and would not terminate. Never mind what happens, whilst she could protect him within her walls of love and hope... she would.

Then came the dreaded 20 week scan, counting down felt like a lifetime of what ifs, what will be’s and much more. This scan found the following:-
*A cyst on his brain
*A strawberry shaped skull/head
*A left ventricular septal defect in his heart
*A complete Cleft Lip and Cleft Palette
*His wrist were fused at an inwards position
*2 cysts on his umbilical chord causing his bowel to develop outside of his stomach
*Echogenic kidneys
*His feet also fused in two separate positions

Everyday became torture, emotional heartache but the sense of feeling him move, grow, have a routine- personality made her more aware it was all worth fighting for. And he was just getting stronger and stronger. Every appointment she attended, it was again what if, what do I do if this happens but time after time he shocked specialists, consultants, sonographers with his sheer and utter determination to survive and meet his mummy. Then comes the meeting with a Heart specialist. Referring to Farran’s case as one of the worst he’d seen in the U.K. and he wasn’t willing to perform the op he needed because tissue was just too weak. They told her to expect and prepare for him to not survive labour, because the stress of it would essentially cause his death, she could go into labour at anytime, or he could pass at any time. Making every day a new hurdle, a new goal, every movement like gold dust within her womb. His heart began skipping beats and at 34-36 weeks they told Jorden his lungs were beginning to fill with blood as the lungs were automatically making up for what the heart couldn’t do. Storing the blood that the heart could no longer take. During the 37 week scan they stated they wish he’ll come early as his heart beat was significantly reducing. The next week passes, and the next 4 days. Waters had broke and yet she still felt him moving, perfectly alive and kicking. With a quick, smooth birth her was born, very much alive because he wasn’t only breathing alone, he was crying too. So the lung power this soldier had, was powerful indeed. At quarter past two in the afternoon, this miracle baby that had defied all odds by just existing enough to even be born. Weighing at 4lb 8oz, he was the most beautiful little boy Jorden’s heart had ever laid eyes on. The next few hours were crucial, doctors and nurses expecting him to pass during the night- but instead he told them ‘screw you, it’s not my time yet’. 27 hours this little boy had with his mummy, and 27 hours he left the biggest impact on everyone lives. 27 hours he became one of the most adored, loved and worshipped little boy that was to ever breathe this earths air. Being blessed by the hospital Chaplin, to ensure no matter what- he’d be safe in the arms of the most beautiful Angel. Sadly, he gave up his battle after succeeding in what he came here to do, defying all statistics sets against him. He passed wrapped safely in the arms of his mum, staring endlessly in awe into her calm, safe and warm eyes. Little did we know, how someone so little could shatter so many worlds at once. The purpose of this is to raise awareness, to give hope and to ensure nobody ever feels like giving up.

The one thing this family deserve, it to lay this little boy to rest with honour, pride and love. And sadly, with death; comes price. Being a mother to two girls already, nothing prepares you for what you know is to come. Hope prevents you believing what is to come. And we want her to be able to spend as much time with her son, as possible. Because Jorden, Ke, Lilah and Farran-Kyle deserve nothing but the world. We have created this fundraiser in the hopes of easing a little of the financial burden that comes with all this heartache. So please, if you find it in yourself to believe he’s worth even a pound to you. Every little helps and we hope he has touched every single one of you and more.

And to Jorden, you are a warrior, a goddess and you deserve nothing but eternal happiness, and glory because you are the strongest person that we all know right now and we are envious of the strength, resilience and your ability to know that life is worth fighting for. And we love you, more than you will ever be able to know. X
