Let's Give Eric a Hand

If you haven't met him personally, you've probably seen him working alongside gym members.
   Eric Hunzelman is a long-time personal trainer at the Planet Fitness in Raymond and has become a fixture at the gym many of us would consider our second home.
   As some of you may have heard, Eric was diagnosed with esophagus cancer in December and has spent the last several weeks on a journey to beat it. He has endured several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. While his treatments have forced him to take a few days off when he wasn't feeling well, Eric hasn't taken a break from the job he loves. He's had some tough days and at times has struggled to find the energy to keep up with work, but he has kept his optimistic attitude and has remained committed to Planet Fitness and its members.
   Eric has been largely silent about his personal health struggle as he shows up for work and carries on even during those difficult moments. The good news is the treatments have been successful in shrinking the tumor, but Eric's cancer fight and his road to full recovery is far from over. Doctors plan to perform surgery in April to remove the tumor. Unfortunately, the surgery will force him to take at leave from Planet Fitness for at least a month as he recovers.
