There are times when we need our community to come together for support that is not about an immediate emergency. It is about reciprocity, gratitude and upliftment.
Brenda has shown up without a break to create and manage the amazing community hub of her and Mitchell's store, Love Revolution . This unique store has given crucial support in difficult times to all genders and orientations, produced countless workshops on intimacy and sexuality, and encouraged pleasure to come out of the closet. Brenda's epic co-creation has become a vibrant part of Ashland's fabric. Teachers in the field of intimacy have had a gathering place to promote and offer their teachings and so much more.
As you may know, Brenda's life in the years the store has been open has been woven with tragic, life-changing events. Throughout, she has done her best to keep her life and the store functioning without any downtime to reflect and heal. Retail in a small town is challenging even with a wonderful business, so she is still working at least 60 hours a week with very little income.
Let's take our turn as a community to give back to Brenda, a big thank you for the welcoming loving warmth and laughter she has continued to bring into our lives and fulfill her need for time to rest, to reflect, and move on to approach the coming years with clarity.
On Brenda's wish list is a vacation with her 23-year old daughter before she launches into her nursing career. To take a Mexico vacation together would be a new and fulfilling mother/daughter experience for them, to mark a new chapter together in their lives.
Brenda also wishes to enroll in trainings to facilitate suicide loss support groups, another new chapter of service to this community. To cover time away from the business, plus the expenses for both of these events I would LOVE us to raise $5000 for her.
