I’m getting questions from people concerned
for G so I thought I’d update here. He has
Stage 4 colon cancer so far seems to be
contained to his liver. He is doing the FOLFIRI plus Avastin regimen this means he goes in on Monday has an infusion in the center then
brings home an infusion pump which delivers
chemo for 48hrs then we go back on
Wednesday to be disconnected. His chemo
weeks are brutal but he begins to feel better
on Saturday or Sunday. Then repeat every
other week. Right now surgery isn’t an option because of the number of spots and location
on his liver. He is thankfully still able to work
from home on his weeks off chemo and
actually likes the distraction of it, his work fam has been amazing through this process❤️.
And as always our friends and family are THE GREATEST you could ever ask for we are so
lucky because we couldn’t do this without you❤️. Had a CT Friday and good news the
tumors in his liver are shrinking!! So now we
keep going!

We have been in contact with Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC, the conversations have
been really positive. The surgeon took his
scans to his conference last week and he is
pretty confident he can resect his disease!
Good news but intense process. He is
concerned there won’t be enough liver left
after the resection of his entire right lobe.
Basically soon we will go to NYC meet with
the surgeon there then have a portal vein
embolization, which would block the blood
flow to the right lobe of his liver causing the
left to grow and compensate. We would come home for a couple weeks while the liver does
it’s thing then go back to NY for the resection. The hospital stay is about 5-7 days but he
wants us to stay in the area for a couple weeks after and for follow up. We feel good about
the plan and G is happy that today may be his
last chemo for a little while! He is looking
forward a break and needs to pack on some
lbs. Thoughts and prayers should switch over
to my mama and fam who are taking over the
girls and online school while we are away next week ❤️
