Please help Ginger and Hera

First of all, thanks for taking the time to read through our plea. I'll try to keep this short so we don't take too much of your time.

In January 2018, we were heart broken to find out that our sweet rescue Ginger was diagnosed with inoperable bladder cancer. The symptoms first started as a UTI, but as weeks progressed we noticed that the medication wasn't taking effect. At this point we decided to have our vet do an ultrasound, which revealed the cancer.

I can't begin to tell you how special she is. She's sweet, kind, and helped us raise numerous foster puppies and kittens. She's also Melinda's emotional support dog, and helped her battle her depression and anxiety.

We quickly realized that we didn't rescue Ginger. She rescued us.

We were able to do some financial planning for her cancer treatment and felt like we were in a good place to not have to ask for help. So you may ask, why am I making a GoFund Me?

Well, shortly after Ginger's heartbreaking diagnosis was given to us, we noticed that Hera started limping and "bunny hopping" around. We took her to the vet, and after a few exams she was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia. As if Ginger's diagnosis wasn't enough to tear our reality to pieces, now we have a less than 2 year old pup that can't walk a block without her back legs giving out.

It breaks our heart that she can't live a healthy and active puppy lifestyle, and that hip dysplasia is also a quite painful condition.

This is why we decided to ask help from our community. The costly treatment for Hera is something we couldn't have planned for, and because Hera's treatment is urgent, we will have to use some of the money we saved for Ginger.

Throughout the years we helped many animais through foster care.  For some cute pictures of those little guys, you can click here.  For adult dogs, we created some cool videos  to try and get them adopted too.

We're hoping that our animal loving community and friends understand our situation, and maybe can help us provide some necessary medical care for our pooches this time around.

If you're not able to help monetarily, I ask that you keep our pups in your thoughts.

For the sake of transparency too, I'm tallying up our medical expenses with Ginger and Hera so that everyone can see how much we've spent  so far.  You can find a link to that here. In short, Ginger needs 3 chemotherapy sessions that run between 500-600 every 3 weeks, and Hera needs to start her treatment with one knee and one hip surgery, costing around $1850 for one knee, and about $4950 for one hip. This is just a short summary not taking into account lab exams and medication. I mention this to put into perspective that our goal amount is reasonable with the treatment costs.

Thanks for taking the time to read our plead, and thank you for your help.
