Hi Family and Friends!
I recently found a lump in my left breast, and after many tests and doctor appointments, found out the shock of my life-- I have breast cancer! No one wants to hear this, and so many things run through your head. What am I supposed to do next? What will my kids do without me? How are we going to pay for this? etc., etc. Well, one thing for sure, my kids are not going to be without me!! I am going to do all I have to do to beat this and be healthy and strong again for them. It is not just my life anymore! My kids, family, and friends need me, and with the power and strength from God, I will beat cancer! I have been to many doctor's appointments up to this point and my next step is surgery. My surgery date is Feb. 17, 2017. I am going to have a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. I am praying that is all I have to do, but my doctors are now hinting at chemotherapy. Well, I just take it one day at a time, and if it comes to that, it comes to that. The one thing that is getting kind of hard now is all of the doctor's bills that come up quickly, one after the other. We live on a budget because I am a stay at home mom (which I LOVE to be and is the BEST job in the world!) Thank God I have insurance, but at the same time, insurance doesn't cover everything!! It is incredible to see the cost of everything. For one blood test (I must include that it is a very detailed and intricate test that checks to see if I got my cancer from a mutated gene, which I didn't-yay and yay for my kids!) costs $2500!!! What ever my insurance doesn't pay, we have to pay and it is adding up. So far, I am just putting it on a credit card (thank God for good credit!) but the balance is adding up quickly. Whatever money I receive from this account, will go to pay this medical credit card off. Whatever you can give, would be greatly appreciated, and if you can't give anything monetary, your prayers are greatly appreciated also!! Thank you for reading my story and God bless! Love-- Gina
