Gina Caro-Leukemia Treatment-Fourth Times A Charm!

Gina Caro is a 9th grade Chap in Eanes ISD who has been battling through the terrible diagnosis of cancer. She was diagnosed in March 2016 with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukeumia (ALL). In her short life, she had already battled and conquered this disease twice, but in July of 2019, Gina would have to brave this battle yet again. After already receiving a CAR-T Cell Replacement in February 2019, and relapsing again in July 2019, the only viable treatment option remaining was a bone marrow transplant. To receive the bone marrow transplant, Gina was transferred to Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio and her family was displaced for 6 months. After a successful transplant and getting to start high school through remote learning, Gina and her family received devastating news in December of 2020 that she had relapsed for a fourth time. Gina will now be admitted to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston and hope to receive CAR-T Cell Replacement therapy for the second time. Gina’s family is in dire need of financial assistance to carry on with major medical and living expenses while Gina is getting treatment in Houston and her family is again displaced.
