This past week our brother, Gilbert Sanders was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. He will need a surgery to remove 2 cm carcinoma cancer tumor at the neck of the bladder. Once the tumor is removed it will be examined by a pathologist to see the type of tumor or abnormality that is in the bladder, as well as how extensive it is, which will then determine the course of treatment.
The Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor (TURBT), which is the procedure to remove the tumor will cost between $8,000 - $10,000 dollars. He has been referred to the American Cancer Society and MD Anderson to see if they have any programs to help with costs.
Due to the tumor blocking his urethra, he has lost control over his bladder. The weekly cost of supplies for this condition quickly adds up. It is also causing him frequent UTIs, which requires an antibiotic prescription along with other prescription costs.
Unfortunately, he is unable to work due to this bladder disorder and has caused him to be extremely fatigued. Our family is asking for any help that you can provide. This will go towards supplies, prescriptions, doctor visits, and more.
We thank you for your kindness and support!
