Stop Jonah's pain

Donation protected
Jonah is a 16-year-old non-verbal teen trapped in a body that needs significant therapy. At age ten, Jonah developed a rare and complicated movement disorder. Jonah’s body thrashes about violently and involuntarily, and usually requires emergency hospitalizations and powerful sedating drugs to shut down his brain’s motor center just to stop the movements. He’s even had to be put into induced comas just to get his body to “reset" and to allow the movements to stop.

After years of hospitalizations and sedative drugs to try and shut down his painful and recurring involuntary movements, Jonah continues to deteriorate daily and experience unnecessary pain throughout his body. He no longer walks and uses what little strength and ability he has left to crawl around on all fours just to enjoy some normalcy in life.

Medical doctors have exhausted all their known resources and solutions, and even then, his insurance refuses to pay for much needed therapy…insisting any specialized equipment and therapy would be for maintenance only, and thus unnecessary.

I want to help Jonah’s parents get him on a better road to recovery, so he can get some much needed relief from his condition. So, I’m looking to get Jonah some specialized therapy equipment his parents can use right in their home…and I need your help.

First, I’ll rent them a hyperbaric oxygen chamber which will work to prevent further deterioration of Jonah’s body, as well as heal existing damaged muscle tissue. Then, I’ll see he gets an appropriate medical stander so Jonah can start to rebuild his muscle strength and flexibility. These devices are both proven to rebuild muscle and improve physical functioning.

Here’s where you come in…

Since he was a baby—and despite being trapped inside a body he can’t control—Jonah’s trademark smiles and laughter have helped inspired those around him to think more positively about their own circumstances and challenges in life.

Now, with your help, we can give Jonah a reason to smile and laugh again by giving him a chance at recovery and even keep him from getting sicker and more disabled. Please join me in helping Jonah by donating to his Giggles for Wiggles campaign!
