Quest’anno abbiamo lavorato, insieme ai nostri insegnanti e degli esperti, in un progetto per sensibilizzare gli studenti sui temi ambientali: cambiamento climatico, inquinamento, deforestazione e tanto altro.
Abbiamo calcolato la nostra impronta ecologica e scoperto che viviamo come se di Pianeti ne avessimo più di uno. Lo sapevi che ogni anno l’umanità usa le risorse di 1,7 Terre?
Noi lo abbiamo scoperto facendo delle attività in classe che ci hanno coinvolto molto, con la visione di filmati che documentano l’aumento dell’inquinamento e il conseguente innalzamento delle temperature del globo terrestre e attività pratiche che hanno aumentato la nostra consapevolezza sull’impatto ambientale di ogni azione che facciamo nella vita quotidiana.
Abbiamo capito l’importanza della tutela della natura e che ogni spazio naturale, anche piccolo, è un patrimonio che contribuisce al benessere delle persone. Che avere del verde in città aiuta a soffrire meno il caldo nei mesi estivi... e che a Milano sono presenti solo 17m2 di verde per persona!
Una cosa che ci ha colpito è stato scoprire nonostante le difficoltà per la difesa dell’ambiente, è possibile fare la differenza iniziando a contribuire ognuno nel proprio piccolo, ed è quello che vorremmo fare noi!
Ce lo ha dimostrato Afroz Shah che, ripulendo una spiaggia di Versova (Mumbai) da oltre 5000 tonnellate di rifiuti, prima da solo e poi con tutti quelli che lo hanno aiutato, ha dato il suo contributo all’ambiente.
Ci siamo resi conto che rimanere “solo spettatori” davanti ad una situazione così grave sarebbe come scavarsi una fossa da soli ed essere egoisti nei confronti della nostra generazione e di quelle future che dovranno vivere su questo bellissimo pianeta.
Per questo è nato Il Giardino dell’Eden.
Un progetto per realizzare in un cortile inutilizzato del nostro istituto uno spazio in cui piantare e coltivare piante, fiori e alberi da frutto, come rafano, consolida, ortica, rosa canina... Così facendo renderemo l’ambiente scolastico più accogliente e piacevole da vivere quotidianamente nei nostri momenti di intervallo, avremo a disposizione campioni da studiare e analizzare durante le nostre esperienze in laboratorio e poi daremo valore alle specie autoctone che appartengono al nostro territorio e che in pochi conoscono.
Per farlo ci siamo costituiti, come impresa formativa simulata, in una associazione di promozione sociale e la nostra prima azione è una campagna di crowdfunding per acquistare tutto quanto è necessario a realizzare il giardino nella scuola (titolo del progetto). Poi noi studenti ci prenderemo cura della nostra piccola area verde.
Abbiamo bisogno del tuo aiuto, perché solo facendo “gioco di squadra” il nostro progetto potrà ampliarsi sempre di più e diventare di tutti. Anche un piccolo contributo può aiutarci e ci farebbe piacere se ci aiutassi a diffondere la voce di questo progetto per essere da esempio e coinvolgere tante altre scuole.

Il Giardino dell'Eden è una idea nata da un laboratorio sullo sviluppo sostenibile, Agenda 2030 e la lotta ai cambiamenti climatici.
Il laboratorio è una delle attività del progetto Lato C , promosso da Step4 e sostenuto dal bando B-circular, fight climate change! promosso da punto.sud nell'ambito del progetto There isn’t a PLANet B! , finanziato dalla Commissione Europea, programma DEAR (Development Education and Raising Awareness). Il lato C ha l’obiettivo di modificare l’atteggiamento delle giovani generazioni verso i temi dello sviluppo sostenibile, aumentandone le capacità di comprensione critica e l’attitudine a impegnarsi attivamente per la lotta ai cambiamenti climatici.

Hey! We are the boys and girls at the Liceo G. Feltrinelli, Milan.
This year alongside teachers and experts we have worked on a project to raise awareness among students about environmental issues: climate change, pollution, deforestation and so much more.
We have calculated our ecological footprint and discovered that we live as if we had more than one planet. Did you know that mankind uses the resources of 1.7 Earths every year?
We have discovered this by making class activities that have involved us a great deal, more so with the vision of films that document the increase in pollution and the resulting rise in Earth’s temperatures, and also with practical activities that have increased our awareness of the environmental impact of every action we do in everyday life.
We have understood the importance of protecting nature and that every natural space, even a small one, is a heritage that contributes to the well-being of people; that having green in the city helps to suffer the heat less during summer months... and that in a huge metropolis like Milan, there are only 17 square squares of green per person!
One thing that has struck us was to discover that, despite all the difficulties in trying to protect the environment, it is still possible to make a difference by starting to contribute, with everyone doing what’s possible... and that is what we’d like to do!
Afroz Shah has shown this to us, by cleaning up a beach in Mumbai from over 5000 tonnes of trash and toxic wastes, first doing it alone and then with all those who came by to help, joining him in contributing to the protection of the environment.
We have realized that, to remain silent in a situation this serious and potentially dangerous, would be like digging our own grave and being selfish towards generations to come, that just like us today, will have to live on this beautiful planet.
That is why, in our minds, Giardino dell’Eden was created.
A project to carry out in an unused courtyard of our institute a space where we can plant and grow plants, flowers and fruit trees, such as the horseradish, the comfrey, the stinging nettle, the dog rose...
In this way we will make our school environment more welcoming and pleasant to live on a daily basis and during our breaks, we will also have samples to study and analise during our laboratory experiences and will give value to the authoctonous species that belong to our territory and that only a few people know.
To do this, we started, as a simulated training enterprise, a social promotion association and our first move is a crowdfunding campaign in order to buy what's necessary to make the garden in our school. And then, we, students, will take care our our little green space.
We need your help, because only with "teamwork" our project will become even bigger and become everyone's.
Even a small contribution can help us and we would be glad if you could help us spread the word for our project so that we can be an example and involte many other schools.

Hi! Kami ay mga mag-aaral mula sa paaralan ng G.Feltrinelli sa Milano (Italia).
Ngayon lamang taon, sa ilalim ng tulong at gabay ng aming mga guro at ilang mga esperto, kami ay lumikha ng isang proyekto sa layunin na buksan ang mga mata ng iba pang mga mag-aaral tungkol sa mga tema ng kalikasan: sa pagbabago ng klima, polusyon, pagkasira ng mga gubat, at marami pang iba.
Sinubukan naming alamin ang aming mga “ecological footprint”, isang numero na nagpapahayag ng ating kunsumidad ng mga likas na yaman at ang kakayanan ng ating planet na ito’y sati’y muling ipaglaan, at aming natuklasan na sa paraan ng aming pamumuhay ay para bang hindi nag-iisa itong planeta na ating kinatitirahan. Alam mo ba na sa bawat taon ay 1.7 katumbas na mundo ang kakailanganin upang masustensyuhan lahat ng ating mga pangangailangan?
Lahat ng ito ay aming natuklasan sa pamamagitan panunuod ng mga dokumentaryo na nagpapahiwatig ng pag-dami ng polusyon at ng mga mapaninsalang naidudulot ng pagtaas ng temperatura ng nuong daigdig, at sa pagsasagawa ng mga aktibidad na nakadagdag sa aming mga kaalaman tungkol sa epekto sa kalikasan ng ating mga kinaugalian pang araw-araw.
Aming naunawaan ang kahalagaan ng pag-aalaga sa kalikasan, at kung paanong ang bawat parte nito, kahit napakaliit, ay may malaking maiaambag sa kapakanan ng mga tao. Na ang kaunting luntian sa syudad ay makatutulong upang mabawasan ang paghihirap natin sa mga buwan ng tag-init.
Isang bagay na tumatak sa amin ay ang pagunawa na sa kabila ng hirap sa pag-aaruga sa kapaligiran, ay maari tayong lumikha ng pagbabago, sa pamamgitan ng pagsisimula sa mga mali-liiit na ambag ng bawat isa. At ito mismo ang nais naming gawin!
Ipinamalas sa amin ito ni Afroz Shah, na naglinis ng higit sa 500 tonelada ng basura sa dalampasigan ng Versova sa Mumbai. Sa umpisa ay ginawa niya ito ng mag-isa at sa pag tagal ay tumulong na rin ang mga nakasaksi sa kanyang maliit na kontiribusyon sa kalikasan.
Aming napagtantuhan na ang pananatili bilang mga “taga-subaybay” lamang ng isang malubhang kalagayan gaya nito ay parang paghuhkay na rin sa sariling libingan, at higit sa lahat pagiging makasarili sa mga susunod pang mga henerasyong maninirahan sa napakagandang planeta nating ito.
Dahil dito, nabuo ang Giardino dell’Eden (Hardin ng Eden).
Isang proyekto kung saan hangarin namin na sa bakuran ng aming paaralan na hindi nagagamit ay makahlikha ng isang lugar kung saan maaring kaming magtanim ng ibat-ibang uri ng mag namumulaklak at namumungang mga halaman. Nang sa gayon, magagawa naming mas nakalulugod ang kapaligiran ng aming paaralan at kasiya-siya ang mga oras sa pagitan ng mga klase. Bukod dito, magkakaroon kami ng mga mapapagkukunan ng mga halaman na aming magagamit bilang muwestra para sa mga obserbasyon ng aming mga aktibidad sa laboratoryo. Aming masmamabutihing piliin ang mga uri ng mga halaman na nagbubunga at kayang mamuhay ng mag-isa, mga halaman lokal na matatagpuan at hindi kilala sa marami.
Upang lahat ng ito ay matupad, kami ay bumuo, bilang isang negosyo sa ilalaim ng pagsasanay ng isang samahang pang promosyong panlipunan. At ang aming unang galaw ay ang paglikom ng pondo sa paraan ng “crowdfunding” para sa pagtugon sa mga pangangailangan pampinansyal na kakailanganin upang masimulan ang aming proyekto. Mula roon, aming ipinapangako na aming a-arugain ang munti naming luntian sa gitna ng mga haligi ng aming paaralan.
Kailangan namin ang inyong tulong, sapagkat sa pamamagitan lamang ng pagtututlungan o “teamwork” natin mapapalago ang aming proyekto, at kung maari ay maging proyekto nating lahat sa hinaharap.
