PLEASE HELP ME BRING MY MOM HOME!
My mom was critically injured while in California working with OTTB (Off the track Thoroughbreds).
She was there helping to relocate them to a rehabilitation center where they could start their new lives away from the racetrack.
While the horses were being unloaded, one of the horses spooked as it was coming off the trailer. The handler loss control of it as it freaked out & started kicking at everything around it.
Unfortunately hitting our mom directly in the chest, as she was waiting for another horse to come off the trailer.
The blunt force trauma from the kick caused Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Which stopped her heart instantly, she stopped breathing & collapsed!!!
The Vet at the facility was able to resuscitate, but the damage was done.
She is currently on Life Support, but is showing good improvement. She is still unconscious, hasn't woken up yet.
She suffered Myocardial Contusion, Pulmonary Contusion, a few fractured ribs, fluid around her heart & is currently being checked for permanent brain damage.
The problem is that she is 3000 miles from home, her family & friends. She is currently in Southern California, she lives in Tampa Bay Florida.
I have called many medical transport companies & they range in cost depending on care needed & due to the distance. All are expensive.
We need her to come home to us, her family, friends & all who love her...so if you could help me I'd be grateful!!!
