Have you ever heard the phrase “it takes a village”? Well, I’m asking you to become a part of my village as I raise money to finally follow my dreams and live in my hopes.
I’ve tried to do it on my own and it just isn’t possible. So this is where I go and beg if I have to in order to live my dreams. To take SUR from just talks to the actual fabric in action. I'm ready for these clothes to hit bodies NOW!
Fashion takes time, patience, effort, creativity; But most importantly, MONEY and CONNECTION. So every day I make it an effort to speak to a new person about fashion. It is my way of networking and learning. I talk to everyone from store buyers and fashion stylists; actresses and singers and I never leave out the people that look like me!
Because SUR was created from the call of the unheard. I'm a Black man, raised by a BEAUTIFUL Black woman and all I’ve witnessed growing up was poise and joy and I wanted to translate into my clothing. It became vital for me to see people that look like me in garments that were regal and sexy and usually unattainable. Instead of having to beg the other houses for a seat at the table I created my own so every little black and brown girl/women can feel just as beautiful as the next.

Its been my dream since I discovered this skill in 10th grade accidentally. I've been sketching ever since. Planning my debut correctly. I’ve sketched day and night to now have an accumulation of over 2500 sketches. I just need a debut and that’s why I’m asking you and your friends/family for just $7.00.
SEVEN is the number of Completion. SEVEN is the number of years I’ve dedicated to this passion. SEVEN is the start! Will you help debut SUR (SIR) ?

As Heidi Klum would say “one minute your eyes in and hen you’re out” Fashion is a risk, yes, but so is every other lifestyle we chase. You have to truly commit to the vision and believe in its own worth. My only challenge currently is money. Money to travel to California or New York where my pattern maker and seamstress are. Purchasing supplies (down to the thread and zipper) Marketing cost. Etc etc. The reality’s is it take some money to make money and I need you guys to help me become an emerging designer; become an international brand.
A few things this campaign will help with are:
-Fabric orders
-Tech pack production
-Stand-IN model booking fees
-Sample production
-Alterations/Tailoring
-Marketing
-Business set up (logo, licensing and etc)
-Business laptop
-Business camera
-SUR promotional materials
-Travel
