Fund for Dan and Vidhya

On October 17th, Dan was diagnosed with t-lymphoblastic lymphoma, a type of Leukemia. To say this diagnosis caught Dan and Vidhya by surprise would be an understatement. How could someone that takes such care and pride in their fitness and nutrition get such a serious disease? Luckily, Dan’s doctors think they caught this early and he is in prime physical shape to wage a battle against this disease. Dan started chemotherapy last week and there is no reason to believe that he will not conquer this. With his wit and (sometimes inappropriate) humor, Dan is already a favorite of his nurses and doctors. That being said, the next month of in-patient chemotherapy followed by two years of out-patient treatment will be a long and painful ordeal.

Happily, there is a ray of sunshine in this story as well, Dan and Vidhya recently announced that they are expecting. We are all overjoyed at this news and want Dan to get healthy so we can all give the growing “Connoltamby” family the attention and good wishes they deserve.
Many of their friends have asked us and other friends how they can help them and whether or not they need money. Fortunately, both Dan and Vidhya have good jobs and great healthcare and have reiterated to us all that they do not need anything but everyone’s good wishes. During a visit with Dan, Vidhya mentioned that when he is done with his treatments they want to take a trip to Hawaii to celebrate. Then it dawned on us, what better way to express all of our love to them by helping to make this daydream a reality! We love the thought of Dan and Vidhya lying on a tropical beach being able to focus on this exciting new chapter of life with Dan’s treatments firmly behind them. Of course they will be free to use the money however they see fit.
At this time Dan and Vidhya do not know about this account and we would like to surprise them once we have at least some of the goal funded. We hope to tell them around Thanksgiving however Dan is getting pretty restless and what better way to pass the time in the hospital than to fantasize about Hawaii?
