Support for Christina Werries

Friends and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I share the following news about our esteemed and respected friend and colleague, Christina Werries (with her approval).
Several weeks ago, Christina discovered she has cancer through the onset of active symptoms and the eventuality of a blood test. This past Thursday, a biopsy unfortunately determined the tumor is malignant and the cancer has spread to several other organs.
It is going to be a VERY long and hard road for Christina and her family. Surgery will be this coming Tuesday, followed by chemotherapy, and a twelve day stay in the hospital.
When she’s ready to go home, she will begin additional chemotherapy intravenously one time a week for six weeks. The surgery is covered by Christina’s insurance, but the chemotherapy is not covered (because it is part of a research trial treatment). Between the three month recovery from the surgery and any additional recovery from the effects of the chemo, Christina will be challenged with a tough recovery.
Christina has touched so MANY lives, motivated so MANY people, and been a friend and an amazing colleague to ALL of us throughout her everyday life and at her workplace! This is a challenge like no other challenge, and your support with cards and emails of encouragement would be WONDERFUL! I thought it would be great if friends and family wanted to voluntarily help Christina and her family with any get well cards, gift cards, and/or donations.
Also, if you have any pictures you’d like to share, please tweet them out to #WerriesWarriors. I think the pictures will be a huge encouragement for Christina (especially during recovery), her family, and especially her two year old son, Christiano.
I believe any type of voluntary support and encouragement for the Werries family would be WONDERFUL.
