Danielle Hudson is the administrative assistant at Ramay Junior High. She has been with Fayetteville Public Schools in different capacities for nearly 15 years. She have been at Ramay since February 2007 and before that she worked in the Fayetteville School District from 1995 to 2000 at Administration and 1 year at Holt Middle School 2000-2001 .
On April 9 the symptoms of nausea and weight gain caused her to make an appointment with my Dr...She ended up seeing a Practitioners Assistant due to scheduling. She saw Dr. Lindsay Karnes who immediately asked if she had ever been told she has a heart murmur. She wanted tests run THAT day. She was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopothy. This condition causes the muscle of the heart to harden. Because of the placement of the hardening, she will have to undergo a procedure called septal reduction (they will shave the heart). She has an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN on November 18 for surgery with Dr. Schaff. She has been told she will be hospitalized 5-7 days with a six week recovery after discharge. Her extended leave started August 19 after a complication with my heart cath on July 25. She developed a double pseudo aneurysm and working was hit and miss. Another Dr. appointment and she was put on medical for 5 weeks to allow the pseudo aneurysm to completely heal and before she could return to work. She was told she was at risk for sudden cardiac death and surgery was inevitable...going about her normal daily routine could cause her to have a cardiac episode that could kill her.
How Dani describes her family and her support system. "I was married to Donnie for 24 years and we had 2 beautiful children. We were divorced after the death of our first born, D.C. We have come a long way and though we are not remarried we reside together with our daughter Brittany, 25 years old. My mom has been to EVERY appointment with me. Donnie, Brittany and my mom will be traveling with me to Mayo for the duration. "
We need to help make that happen. We are looking to raise money for travel, lodging, food and other expenses associated with her trip to Mayo.
