About Our Family
We are the Cate family. We are a family of 11 Nathan and Danielle, Josiah-15, Hope-13, Graça-12, Lilly-11, Jeremiah- 11, Ezekiel-10, Dougie-8, Melody-6, Bella-4.
We have been on the mission’s field since 2007 serving the Lord in Brazil. We came to Brazil when we were only 21 years old as a family of 3, and now 12 years later, we are a family of 11.
The Purpose
During our 12 years on the Mission’s field in Brazil we have never had an extended furlough for our family.
Over the past several years we have lived through several difficulties and traumas. We are hoping for the opportunity to take a step back from the missions field for a little time of rest, reflection, and healing. While in the U.S. we will be doing some counseling to help us through these traumas.
Our hearts are still in Brazil and we desire to come back strengthened and prepared to continue giving our lives for the Lord in Brazil.
Our Plans
We have several different churches supporting us in our efforts to have this time in the states. Those churches have already graciously helped us toward airfare and are helping with some other practical needs.
We still need help with our day to day cost of living as a family of 11 in the U.S.A..
Our plan is to go to California in Mid September and come back to Brazil in February. During that time we are also hoping and praying to visit Florida.
Needs
Monthly expenses: We are looking to raise $20,000 to pay for our monthly expenses as well as some things we would like to do as a family. This will help toward covering our financial needs as a large family during the duration of our furlough in the states.
Housing: We are looking for help finding a house in Southern California from mid September to February.
Car: We will need a full size van in California.
