Bent but Never Broken

My Mother suffered a major stroke, lost her job, and then along with the COVID pandemic, we have experienced continued financial strife due to the COVID shutdown and delays in getting disability, medicaid, and medical needs approved.  The delays continue to cause severe financial constraints so much so, that I am reaching out for help through the GoFundMe campaign.

I am also my Mother's full-time caretaker, and thus unemployed, awaiting a program to receive direct funds to take care of her.  COVID shutdowns and delays are impeding this as well.

Needless to say, we are struggling financially, and I am writing this GoFundMe page to try to raise enough money for the living expenses and medical/ financial needs that we continue to struggle with.  

It was back on January 22nd, 2020, my mother suffered a major ischemic stroke that affected 48% of the right side of her brain rendering the entire left side of her body inoperable. Blood clot removal, two and ½ weeks in the hospital, and then discharged to a rehab center she came home totally dependent for medical care.  I am her sole caretaker now 24/7.

Thank God, a younger brother (who lives out of state) successfully raised funds during the early part of the year in another GoFundMe campaign.  However, I am now personally reaching out again with my own campaign.

 I chose the title Bent but Not Broken. For it is written…"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken”. Psalm 34:19-20.
