Get Well Soon Baby Girl!

As many of you may know, Nisa was in a minor accident on August 31st when she fell off of a motorized Bird scooter in Oakland.  She did need to go to the hospital to get stitches on her chin, and later found out that her jaw and chin were fractured.  On Friday, September 14th she will have surgery and following the procedure, her jaw will be wired shut for about a month.  During that month she will be on a liquid diet, and in the following weeks will introduce soft foods in stages.  Many of her expenses are unknown really at this point, but at minimum we would like to help her cover her flight expenses home and back (she will be treated here in So Cal), specialized dietary needs (liquid diet/juicer/vitamin and protein supplements), any possible loss of income from time off, insurance copays, prescriptions, Ubering to and from her Nor Cal appointments and/or the market (which can be crazy expensive in SF) and perhaps a helmet...with a chin strap (just kidding), etc.  Luckily, we have insurance so the out of pocket maximum costs for the procedures/treatment will be $1500. THE GOOD NEWS is that she isn't in any pain, but is obviously concerned about being able to maintain her schooling, job and bills throughout the next several weeks.  As I reassured her, and as I'm sure you agree...she doesn't need to worry.  We've got her back.
