Get the technology I need to be more independent

Hi, I’m Elizabeth. I have muscular dystrophy, and I’ve lost almost all hand function and haven’t been able to access my phone myself in 2 years. The loss of mobility has been difficult and could potentially get worse.

I'm raising money to get a GlassOuse PRO Assistive Device, which would allow me to use my head as a mouse, and I could finally use my phone again. I use head-pointing on a communication device, and it has helped me tremendously. I would love to use my phone and computer the same way.

A little background: I currently have a tiny bit of movement in my thumb, and I'm able to control my computer with a mouse app on an old phone that doesn't work as a phone anymore. It's just used as a mouse, and people need to turn the phone on for me, open the app, and place my hand on the phone in a specific position so I can control the mouse. I use my computer for everything: work, staying in contact with friends and family, watching shows, reading, etc. If my thumb ever stops working, I won't be able to use my computer anymore.

For my actual phone, I can't use it at all anymore. Anything that is only accessible through an app and not on a desktop (SO MANY THINGS), I'm not able to do. As a social media manager and a graphic designer, I need to be able to use my phone and computer. If I had the GlassOuse device, it would help me continue to work and be more independent. The funds would also go toward upgrading my phone to a newer one that is compatible with GlassOuse.
