The story behind the Queen City Creamery

Donation protected
As her story has been pretty private over the past year, enough is enough. Many of you know my mom, Rhiannon, who is one of the strongest, hardest-working women. In 2016 she started her dream with her business partners at the Queen City Creamery where she has worked countless hours slowly growing the business to where it is today. Fast forward to the past year and she has been nothing but bullied, lied to, and threatened time and time again. Trying to go separate ways in an amicable agreement has turned into countless hours, lawyers, and dollars all down the drain. Rhiannon has been torn down physically and mentally and their buyout demands have been upped at every turn. They continued to decline countless offers that Rhiannon put forth in their attempts to “bury” her.

These actions inflicted by her partners gave Rhiannon no other option other than to reopen a new QCC that she will solely own, as she has been pushed out of the business. She is going in with very little.

The family business that Terry and Rick Michels built together and the business that has been further led by mother and her daughters will never be the same. This is the same building where my family began.

Rhiannon and her team worked hard to acquire the ice cream truck. Working many evenings in the ice cream trailer after working all day at the shop, she saved money to purchase a used truck that she transformed into the truck we know and love. That truck also provided full-time employment to one person. The truck was taken from her in the settlement.

Where does Rhiannon stand now? She has acquired the legal trade name of Queen City Creamery and will be moving forward with rebuilding from the ground up. What does she have? 8 years of experience, an extreme amount of passion, and an ice cream machine.

She has since transformed the Baltimore Street space that was originally purposed for production to now serve as production and retail. She has also been able to purchase a used truck out of an auction to fix up as a new ice cream truck. It needs a lot of TLC....

What can you do to help? Any type of donation will go straight towards the ACTUAL Queen City Creamery with the first goal to renovate the new truck. The truck was a huge source of revenue…from Delfest, to weddings, to downtown events, to weekly trips to the hospital, to Picklefest, and countless others! There is only one true source of Queen City Creamery frozen custard and that comes from the Baltimore Street location!

On behalf of my mom, Rhiannon, my grandmother, Donna, and sisters, we truly appreciate your time reading this and appreciate the love and support you have given the Queen City Creamery. Please share if at all possible. We look forward to serving you again and for many years to come #savethequeen #relentless
