Help Get Kosovo to the 2019 World Mixed Curling Championship!

Built on the success of Team Kosovo’s first-ever World Championship participation in the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship earlier this year, we are set to compete at the World Mixed Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland from October 12th-20th.

Team Kosovo’s overall performance in the two-person event earned the team the highest ranking among first-year teams, placing 44th overall at the event. Kosovo now owns a world ranking of 47 of 61 countries. Despite finishing with a record of 0-7, the novice team was competitive, scoring early points against far more experienced teams in every game except one, against Team USA. Against eventual playoff team, Spain, Kosovo led most of the game, forcing them to score a point for the win 7-6.

The four-person World Mixed Curling Championship is important to Team Kosovo and the Kosovo Curling Federation. By competing in this event, Kosovo will officially become a full voting member of the World Curling Federation and provide another opportunity for Kosovo to win its historic first game.

Kosovo was accepted as a provisional member of the World Curling Federation in 2012, but has been rapidly growing since receiving it’s first Street Curling rink in Spring 2017. Street Curling is an ice-less version of the sport that helps demonstrate what curling is, how to play and has allowed more than 5000 Kosovars to throw their first stones.
Competition on the world stage helps to promote the young country internationally, and also increases awareness among Kosovars of this social inclusive, unique and fun sport, accessible to all ages and abilities. Most importantly, it will be a key step forward toward building Kosovo’s first full-size ice sports facility in the near future.

Become a part of history and support Kosovo curling today!

Any amount, large or small, would be much appreciated to help Kosovo to make its curling debut on the world stage a success. It all adds up! Anything raised over the target will go to support continued curling development in Kosovo.

Thank you to our donors from our last campaign, my aunt for setting it up and updating it, and my mom for flying out to Norway to be our #1 fan and support us throughout the week.

Your support helped us cover our expenses during our practice session in Bratislava and covered a good portion of our expenses in Norway.

Thank you for your support!
