Get Roller Land rolling again

What comes to mind when you hear the words fast skate, couples skate, disco lights, red light green light, limbo and the dice game? That is right, you probably think of roller skating! For nearly 40 years our family has proudly owned the local skating rink in Merced, California - Roller Land. Roller Land has been a staple in our local community providing safe family fun entertainment for multiple generations. Much like many small businesses across the country, Roller Land has been affected by the current national pandemic. In late March, we were ordered to shut down by state government officials. During this challenging time, we have chosen to see the opportunity instead of the adversity. Our staff has worked tirelessly to thoroughly deep clean the entire building, paint the interior, and remodel the bathrooms. We still have more projects we would like to complete but given the abrupt stop of income in March, we have come to a point where we need the community’s help to reach these goals. With generous donations from the community, we hope to complete the following renovation projects. We would like to spruce up the rink by installing new carpeting on the walls as well as paint the exterior of the building. The intent behind this lofty goal is to provide the most excellent experience for our customers. Our hope is to raise the funds quickly, in order that these projects can be completed by the time we are given permission to reopen safely. The reasoning is two-fold, one that we do not interrupt time that could be available to our customers and two to provide the best experience we can when visiting Roller Land. We are anxious to welcome back our patrons and continue to be a pillar in the Merced community. Roller Land prides itself on providing more than just entertainment over the last thirty-nine years. Roller Land generously gives back to the community through fundraising for local schools, churches and community groups. Additionally, we host local homeschool co-ops to provide physical education credits. Roller Land also offers opportunities for nationally ranked competitive athletics through our artistic skating, roller derby and rink hockey clubs. Our family cherishes the memories made at Roller Land and our greatest wish is to offer our patrons a chance to make these memories as well! We have seen multiple generations of our own family skate at this rink and hope to continue that legacy, not only for our family but for the community of Merced.
