Get Ned to Seattle

Donation protected

Important Update!

We are so overjoyed to announce that due to a very generous offer from a private donor, the medical side of Ned’s treatment costs will be covered.

The outpouring of support and generosity has been absolutely amazing.

Due to the long weekend, we are waiting to finalise details and confirm that this offer will be able to proceed.

As a result, we are putting a pause on all donations over the long weekend. We will update you with full details as soon as things are confirmed.

This is a huge answer to prayer. We praise God for the amazing provision for the Isham family. The past 48 hours have demonstrated the astounding amount of love for Ned. Thank you for every dollar, every prayer and every encouraging word.

Ned Isham and his family have been fighting against cancer for nearly four years. They have journeyed through relentless treatments, interstate family relocation, discouraging setbacks and the recent devastating news that the bone marrow transplant Ned underwent from his sister last year was unsuccessful.

The amazing oncology team at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne have strongly recommended that Ned travel to Seattle to take part in groundbreaking new treatment: CAR-T cell therapy. This medical program has been running successfully for a few years and is the best possible treatment, given Ned's specific cancer diagnosis and disease course.

Ned’s disease is increasing rapidly and there is an urgent need for this treatment - which is now his last remaining option.

Ned, together with his beautiful Tasmanian family members Seth, Emily, Lucy, Eleanor and baby Gilbert, will now need to travel to Seattle and stay for approximately three months for this medical program and the associated treatment.

The cost of going to Seattle is considerable and currently prohibitive. The family will need AUD $80,000 for flights, accommodation and living expenses, in addition to the AUD $600,000 upfront cost for his treatment.

The Isham family has applied to the Australian government for funding assistance in the form of the MTOP (Medical Treatment Overseas Program). The outcome of this application won't be known for some weeks and there is an urgent need for the treatment money to be provided upfront.

As a community, we want to surround Seth, Emily and the children with our love, our prayers and our support. As they walk this unimaginably difficult road, we stand alongside them as their village - to support and fight for precious Ned.

Some further information:

Seth and Emily wish to be as transparent as possible in this process, as it is a complicated situation and a large financial goal.

If MTOP funding is approved and the money raised by this gofundme is in excess of the Ishams’ needs, they will not keep the extra money.

Any excess funds will either be returned to the donor upon request (for donations $200 and above) or donated to cancer research at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

We will send updated information via gofundme as soon as we find out whether the MTOP funding has been approved.
