Dear friends and family,
This year I'm honored to have been selected to represent the United States and of course Jones Beach at the Lifesaving World Championships in Adelaide, Australia!
Every 2 years elite athletes from around the globe come together to compete for the title of World's best. This November I'll be competing in beach flags, 90 meter soft sand sprint, rescue tube rescue, Ocean-man Relay, and Beach Sprint Relay.
My main event is beach flags which tests both speed and reflexes. A series of flags are placed into the sand in a row while competitors lie facing away. Upon a starting signal, the competitors race to the flags. There are always more competitors than flags so every round is an elimination round until a winner prevails.
As a 2 time National Beach Flag Champion I have spent the past 6 years training in hopes of making it to Worlds! And with Worlds around the corner the only thing holding me back from achieving my dream is the hefty expense to get to Australia.
