Georgina and the Boys

ABOUT ME -
Around 8 years ago, I gave birth to my beautiful identical twin boys Constantine and Dante. They were born premature at 28 weeks and were in the NICU for 3 months. They have had significant health issues growing up.
Unfortunately the boys and I faced a great loss as my then fiancé and the Father of my twin babies, passed away unexpectedly when my twin boys were just 4 months old and out of hospital. I have been their sole provider and carer ever since.
DIAGNOSIS -
At the tender age of 2 years Constantine started having seizures which led to further medical investigation. His twin brother Dante suffered a similar seizure at the age of 5 years old and has bouts of tachycardia which is under investigation. So far, both my boys have been diagnosed with a seizure disorder and mild TIC disorder. Dante has developmental delays and Constantine's low IQ almost categorizes him as being intellectually impaired.
MEDICAL BILLS -
Both my boys need to attend speech therapy weekly, the counselling sessions fortnightly, psychology sessions monthly, and all the others are about 3 monthly. Constantine has been removed from the NDIS-funded scheme in the latest overhaul of the system and Dantè's plan will expire in August so they will lose funding for speech, Occupational Therapy and psychology.
ON THE JOB FRONT -
Their regular pediatrician, neurologist and other specialist appointments have taken their toll on my limited income, but I have always managed to get by just to be able to give them the medical treatment they require. Finding employment while juggling weekly medical appointments for the boys and the many days off school due to their health issues made it nearly impossible to work. I made the decision to home school the boys this year so that I can be there for them, should a medical emergency arise and to focus on their progress from allied health appointments. This has meant even less job opportunities for me, but I am exploring all my options to find part time work from home.
LEGAL BATTLE -
To add to my financial difficulties, unfortunately over the past 2.5 years I have been involved in a family court matter, but as the law dictates I am unable to discuss the particulars of the case. This enterprise was entirely self-funded as I wasn’t entitled to free legal aid due to a lack of legal aid workers. This has tipped my finances over the edge and I have found myself in need of financial support to help me manage the last leg of my legal journey. I have exhausted every avenue to come up with the last few thousand dollars and I just can’t manage it.
This unexpected legal battle has had long reaching effects on every aspect of my life. Last week my car broke down and is beyond repairs, as well as other bills which I haven’t been able to prioritize due to paying my legal fees in the court matter.
TO SUM IT UP -
Raising my beautiful boisterous boys has been the biggest yet most rewarding challenge of my life, but unfortunately it has come at a higher cost than the average child times two. So I am reaching out to my friends for their kindness and asking for their support financially to help me get me over this bump in the road and back on my feet. I know everyone is in a difficult financial position at the moment, and I hate asking for help. But I would appreciate any amount that people can manage to give!
