Gene Boring Memorial 4-H Scholarship Fund

Hi, my name is Jamie Rose. I am one of "the boring twins." I have started this GoFundMe to raise money for a 4-H scholarship that will be awarded yearly as the " Gene Boring Memorial Scholarship."

Mom started with us in 4-H when Kenzie and I were nine years old. We joined the Southside club in the Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat group and were very active all the way through graduation. All of us (Me, Kenzie, Nick and Will) were members of the officer team and teen leaders in our small groups. Beacuse of Mom's influence, we became very dedicated to 4-H, all of us having won grand champions at county and state fairs and small animal round robin at the county fair. She continued to lead the countywide Nigerian dwarf goat group as a leader and co-Leader for 5 more years after all of the kids outgrew 4-H. That's a total of 21 years of 4-H service!

Please help us to continue Mom's 4-H legacy in perpetuity through this scholarship fund.

If you wish to donate a small amount, this is a great way to do so. We will collect the money here and send the total amount to the California 4-H Foundation to add to the Scholarship Fund. If you wish to donate a larger amount, you can send a check directly to the California 4-H Foundation. Please write checks out to: 'California 4-H Foundation' with 'Gene Boring Memorial Scholarship Fund' as the memo. Please mail to: UC ANR Davis office at 2801 2nd Street Davis, CA 95618. After they receive your check they will send you a letter with their tax information for your deduction.

Funds from the Gene Boring Memorial 4-H Scholarship Fund will be used to provide an annual

award to a graduating senior pursuing a post-secondary degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) field. Consideration will be given to those students pursuing higher education who, in the absence of a scholarship, might otherwise be unable to attend a vocational or trade school, junior college, college or university. Financial need will be determined through the application process. The scholarship will be awarded by El Dorado County 4-H.
