GED Teacher and US Veteran - Cancer Strikes Twice

Hi, my name is Frances Webster. It's been a challenging 15 months, and it's not over yet. Bruce Grooms and I are humbly asking for help.

 

Last year, I was diagnosed with a rare type of ovarian cancer. I had surgery and chemotherapy throughout the year. My cancer is currently in remission, which is fantastic!

 

Unfortunately, Bruce was recently diagnosed with two masses on his liver which, at this time, are cancer of an unknown origin. Doctors are also suspecting either lung or gallbladder cancer as well because he has stage 4 peritoneal carcinomatosis. This diagnosis means that he has tumors throughout his abdomen. Many tests and treatments are in his future. He has a long and challenging road ahead of him.

 

Some background information...

I was an Adult Education Instructor. For 18 years, I taught adult inmates at the local county jail, helping them achieve their GED.

 

Bruce joined the Air Force after high school and served for six years. He worked security at Cape Canaveral for 17 years. Three years ago, he achieved his goal of becoming a CDL truck driver.

 

Due to the loss of income, we can no longer pay for my insurance costs, medical bills, and prescriptions. Soon, we will no longer be able to pay our monthly living expenses, including the mortgage. Bruce's hospital, prescription, and other medical bills are already piling up. There is no way to predict what costs he will incur going forward.
