My first manuscript -The Crazy Life of Margaret

- The Goal
I need to raise funds mostly to correct the book because I´m dyslexic and even if I can tell good stories because of my dyslexia reading my stories can be more complex but with the right editing it will be perfect and simple to read.
My publisher Tallbergs Förlag (https://tallbergsforlag.se/) is going to cover a part of the publishing cost. But the editing cost is on me.
I need funding for:
Editing: because I´m dislesic I need the book to be checked both that the words are correctly written and that the grammar work.
Revision: it´s my first book I need to get the fluidity of the book checked and that the story is clear and simple to read.
The printing of the first 1000 copies of the book is my own cost and risk.
The cover: I want the cover to be perfect! That´s why I stay for the cost of it.

 

I´ve got the cover from a friend who made it for me for a reasonable price and now I´m looking in to the cost of revision and editing of the book. The cover is a mixture of those feeling that the book wants to give the reader: loneliness, luxury and bad behaviour.

 

The idea behind the book is to give a platform and to be a strong voice to all the victims of bulling and abusive behaviour that usually don't have one.

I also want to give the readers an inside look of how life changes and the difficulties you can struggle with after being the victim of abuse. My primary goal with the book is to help increase awareness about any type of abuse and most of all the consequences that it may cause.

To help people better understand the difficulties that these kinds of situations can create.

 

The message of the book and the message I want to convey is to listen to your children and what they try to tell you. Do not judge them, and finally, help children who suffered abuse to let go of the trauma.

 

By funding my book you'll help me get my message through to more people, giving them the tools to be able to interpret and see the signals that someone is in danger or is struggling.

 

I am also hoping that this book will help teenagers understand that they aren't alone in this kind of situation.

 

Margaret is a sad teen girl close to finishing her high school experience where she has been bullied to exhaustion. She is unhappy with her life and this is on top of the usual teenage unhappiness.

 

As Margaret tries to handle these traumas she sets herself in a downward spiral and brings chaos in her life. She becomes the perfect party girl she don´t take her life seriously. Margaret wants to escape her painful memories by trying new styles, undergoes plastic surgery, and her life quickly escalates with the usage of booze and drugs until she eventually loses everything that reminds her of what she used to be.

 

When she is almost on a point of no return she falls in love and gets back on her feet.

 

We get to follow Margaret on her journey to find herself and on her quest to finally find love for who she really is.

 

I had to embrace my own past, to rediscover how to love myself.

This book is the result of my journey!

I´m Sebastian Pau I´m 23 ( https://www.instagram.com/pau.johansson/ ) and I have a big dream - to become an author. I've already written 7 manuscripts but never got a contract with a publisher. Now I got one and have the chance to be published and full fill my dream.

My first book ¨The Crazy Life of Margaret¨ is contracted to be published in Swedish, English and Italian and will be out in April 2022. I think Margarets story is a very modern and current story that needs to be told to help people in similar situations to feel less lonely and more understanding.

This is a very personal story to me that I wanted to write during my seven year therapy. And now I feel ready to share with the world.
