Janet Mercer House Fire

Janet and Jim Mercer purchased this home (in Malden) over 50 years ago where they raised 6 wonderful children. During this time they were also dedicated volunteers in many areas within their community including Boy Scouts Pack 609 and St. Joseph's Parish.
Janet had been living there currently with her now two adult children and helping to raise her 2 grandsons (now 10 & 15).
This fire started in the basement and went through the center of this 100+ year old house and now it has sustained heavy smoke, water and fire damage. They family is trying to salvage as much as their can while Janet and her family look for a new home as they have been informed the house will be torn down. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond control, there is no insurance to help assist Janet.
The Mercer Family has established this page and another GoFundMe page going at the same time (both pages of donations will go directly to Janet and assist her in getting back on her feet. No donation is too small. Everything helps.
