Haley’s Fundraiser for Canadian Feed the Children

Over the past few days, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on our Canadian history and the Indian Residential Schools. Dismay, grief, rage, and frustration pervaded my thoughts until I finally decided to do something that could hopefully make a positive impact.

Following in the footsteps from a fellow advocate, Jana Wilson, my brother and I have decided to participate in a 215km run to honour each child who did not make it home from the Kamloops residential school. We pledge to run a total of 215km this month in hopes to spread awareness about the impact residential schools have had on Indigenous communities.

Our goal is to raise money for the Canadian Feed the Children. It is an organization that aims to help Indigenous children, who are facing hunger, gain access to healthy meals in school. They have committed to matching 2x whatever donations are made for the month of June. It would be really appreciated if you helped support this amazing organization.

I will be updating how long we run each day on my Instagram story. Stay tuned!

Thank you
